Our achievements / Outcomes
Our findings are:
- the Slovenes and the Transilvanians had a common enemy: the Transilvanian noble army and the counts of Celje fought against the Turks in the battle at Nikopolje in 1396,
- the counts of Celje (Herman II and his son Frederik II as well as Herman s daughter Barbara as Sigismund s wife) and Vlad Dracul II from Transilvania were members of the Knighthood of dragon, which was formed by Sigismund of Luxemburg,
- the third encounter between the counts of Celje and the Transilvanian counts was fatal for the counts of Celje, for prince Ulrik, the last count of Celje, was victim of the Belgrade conspiracy,
- the Slovene king Matjaž comes from Transilvania and that both the Slovenes and the Romanians know folk songs about Mathias Korvin.
