King Mathias Korvin and Brasov

1. From Mathias`s collection in Buda, a considerable amount of manuscripts were taken to the library of the school founded by Johannes Honterus in Brasov. The Corvinus manuscript tradition encouraged the development of libraries in Transylvania, as part of the cultural heritage of the Hungarian and Saxon population, and, starting from the 18^th century, also of the Romanian population here.
